In March 2022, retired Lieutenant Colonel H. Ripley ("Rip") Rawlings IV and his wife, Dr. Erin Felger, planned to go on a 1980s-themed cruise. However, being combat veterans, they were deeply moved by the news from Ukraine. Instead of enjoying a cruise, they traveled to the Polish-Ukrainian border to volunteer.
Dr. Felger worked in a medical tent, while Rip recorded interviews and documented the streams of Ukrainian refugees seeking shelter in Poland. The horrors faced by the peaceful Ukrainian people strengthened their resolve to help.
In April 2022, they founded Ripley's Heroes in the USA, aimed at raising donations and purchasing necessary resources for Ukraine. In August of the same year, our partner charity fund, Ripley's Heroes Ukraine, was established, enabling us to implement more assistance programs for our defenders.
